Flipped switch?

I spent the weekend in Vegas with two of my closest girlfriends. We became friends through the Arizona Adoptive Families group.

During the weekend I'm told alternately "you would be such a great mom!" and "you don't want to wait too long so that you're too old to adopt"

Good to hear.... both comments.

So, why do I feel that some switch inside me has been flipped to "nope, you're not going to have that so get used to it"?

Get rid of that negative thinking... you will create that which you think about.

You will be a GREAT mom.

One step in front of the other, friend.

Go with what your heart tells you! If you want to become a mom then you definitely will! I know exactly the struggles you are feeling with the situation in Guatemala. Have you considered a domestic adoption?

A friend of mine was trying to decide whether to adopt or not. She was wavering heavily, and her husband surprised her by not wavering at all. He was very clearly on board with the adoption.

He told her "This is something we will never regret doing. No matter what happens to us or this child down the road...we'll never regret it. We may regret NOT doing it, but we'll never regret doing it."

You will never have your life 100% neat and tidy, emotionally, financially or socially, to say "NOW is the time." There will always be something that pops up - the home repair, the flat tire, the I-hate-my-job moments. But just as you get through those moments for yourself, you'll get through them as a parent too.

Decide which way you want that penny to land. :)
